How the Mass Unfolds
A Journey in Two Movements
The Mass mirrors the Christian life: God speaks, we respond, Christ feeds us, and we are sent.
The Liturgy of the Word
God speaks to us through the Scripture.

God gives Himself to us in Holy Communion.

Entering the Sacred
The Procession and Penitential Rite
Everything begins with the entrance procession, as the priest and ministers walk toward the sanctuary. The whole community rises together, signaling that we are stepping out of the ordinary and into the sacred. It’s the Church’s way of saying: “Something holy is about to happen.”

We then pause for the Penitential Rite, acknowledging our human weakness and asking for God’s mercy. The ancient prayer Kyrie eleison (“Lord, have mercy”) prepares our hearts to hear God’s Word with openness and clarity.

The homily connects Scripture to real life -- your questions, your struggles, your hopes. We then profess the Creed, uniting ourselves with Christians across centuries, followed by the Prayers of the Faithful, lifting up the needs of the world.
Receiving Christ
The Liturgy of the Eucharist
This is the heart of the Mass. Bread and wine -- symbols of our work and our lives -- are brought to the altar. Through the Holy Spirit, they become the Body and Blood of Christ. This change is called transubstantiation. It is not symbolic. It is real.

For many returning Catholics and young adults, this moment awakens something deep: "If this is truly Jesus, then everything changes."
Those spiritually prepared may receive Holy Communion. Others are warmly invited to come forward with arms crossed to receive a blessing.
